City of Sheffield Movements

       

Nov 1988 - The City of Sheffield takes up station at Whitby Lifeboat Station. The boat was officially named on 28th July 1989 by HRH The Duchess of Kent.

1996 - Following a brief period in the relief fleet, the boat is relocated to Hartlepool Lifeboat Station.

Oct to Dec 2000 - Boat joins the relief fleet, and is placed on service at Cromer Lifeboat Station for relief duties.

Jan 2001 - Relief duties at Sennan Cove Lifeboat Station. However, she was not used due to problems with the boat.

Mar to Aug 2001 - Undergoes complete refit, Port Solent.

13th Aug 2001 - Arrives at Poole Lifeboat Station. Crew training commemces including two training passages:

28th to 30th Aug 2001 - Passage 1: Poole to St Malo to Alderney to Poole.
30th Aug to 2nd Sept 2001 - Passage 2: Poole to Weymouth to St Peter Port to Poole.

5th Sept 2001 - Officially placed on station at Poole Lifeboat Station to replace the Brede class lifeboat 33-07 (ON 1089).
