| Many people ask, why support the lifeboats when we live so far from the sea? Well, according to the records kept at RNLI headquarters, based on the "service returns" from lifeboat call-outs between 1996 and 2002, over 300 people from this county have been rescued by the lifeboats!
This
site is the second county-wide website for Royal National Lifeboat
Institution supporters and fundraisers. It is designed to
let you know about the wide range of fundraising activities
organised by the RNLI branches and guilds in South Yorkshire,
and how you can help them to raise the millions of pounds
required to keep the lifeboats and their volunteer crews saving
lives.
If you
have any suggestions for either improvements to the site or
for fundraising activities in the county then please sign
our guestbook or send
a message.
